This briefing highlights the need for gender-responsive and socially inclusive approaches to innovation adoption among smallholder farmers in Africa. Additionally, adaptive research, participatory implementation, scaling-out, and scaling-up of successful innovations are key factors that foster adoption and address these challenges.
